Pro tips for dense hardwoods

Because tropical hardwoods like Ipe are exceptionally dense, they absorb less oil than softwoods; apply thin coats and wipe away any unabsorbed oil after 15-20 minutes to prevent a tacky surface.
Allow new tropical hardwood to weather or 'season' for approximately 4 to 8 weeks before application to allow the wood pores to open for better oil penetration.
Always test the Natural Cedar 512 on a scrap piece of your specific species, as the existing red tones in Massaranduba or the orange in Tigerwood will significantly influence the final cured color.
