About this product
The DeckWise Master Plug Kit β Tigerwood (1050 Ct.) is a professional-grade wood plugging system designed to completely conceal face-screwed fasteners in Tigerwood decking. It provides a seamless, fastener-free aesthetic by utilizing tapered wood plugs that match the specific grain and color of Tigerwood boards. This comprehensive kit is intended for contractors and DIYers working on large-scale tropical hardwood projects where structural face-fastening is required without compromising the visual appeal of the wood.

- 2Securing Tigerwood vertical siding or rainscreen cladding to ensure a clean, architectural look without visible metal hardware.
- 3Finishing perimeter boards, stair treads, and picture-frame borders on exotic hardwood decks where hidden clips cannot be used.
- 4Constructing Tigerwood fencing or gate panels where both sides of the wood are visible and require a premium, furniture-grade finish.
Pro tips for dense hardwoods
- Always align the grain of the Tigerwood plug with the grain of the deck board before seating it; this makes the plug nearly invisible once a UV-inhibiting oil finish is applied.
- Place a small drop of the included waterproof glue on the side wall of the countersunk hole rather than the bottom to prevent hydraulic back-pressure from pushing the plug back out.
- Tigerwood is extremely dense; always use the Smart-Bit to pre-drill the full length of the screw to prevent board splitting and screw shearing.

Why Choose Plugs & Plug Kits?
How to Plug a Hardwood Deck
Countersink the Screw
Use a 3/8β³ countersink bit to create a flat-bottomed hole roughly 1/4β³ deep. The screw sits at the bottom; the plug fills the remaining space.
Apply Exterior Adhesive
Put a small bead of waterproof polyurethane glue (included in kits) into the hole. Too much glue squeezes out and creates a mess; too little and the plug loosens over time.
Seat the Plug
Tap the plug in with a rubber mallet or wood block until it seats against the glue. Ribbed plugs self-center and grip irregular holes; smooth plugs work best in precision-drilled holes.
Flush-Cut After Curing
Wait 24 hours for the adhesive to cure fully, then trim the plug flush with a sharp chisel or oscillating multi-tool. Sand lightly and apply finish.
Pro Tip from Our Deck Specialists
Order plugs cut from the same species AND the same board lot as your decking for the closest color and grain match. Plugs from a different harvest can look noticeably different.
