About this product

GacoRoof Colors is a 100% silicone roof coating designed to provide a permanent, seamless waterproofing membrane for flat and sloped roofs. It is specifically engineered to resist UV degradation and withstand permanent ponding water, making it an essential preparatory layer for rooftop deck installations. This product is ideal for property owners and contractors who need to seal a substrate before installing a tropical hardwood sleeper system or deck tile assembly.

100% silicone formula remains permanently flexible and will not crack, peel, or become brittle over time.
Specifically rated to withstand permanent ponding water without softening or losing adhesion.
Provides high UV resistance to reflect heat and protect the underlying structure from solar damage.
Large 5-gallon volume provides efficient coverage for commercial and residential rooftop projects.

Best used for

  • 1Waterproofing the primary roof substrate prior to the installation of an Ipe or Cumaru rooftop deck on a sleeper system.
  • 2Protecting concrete balconies or flat roof areas before laying down Garapa or Tigerwood deck tiles.
  • 3Creating a durable, color-matched moisture barrier for commercial boardwalks built over structural concrete roofs.
  • 4Sealing roof surfaces adjacent to Massaranduba privacy screens or rooftop fencing to ensure long-term structural integrity.

Pro tips for dense hardwoods

  • When installing heavy tropical hardwoods like Ipe over the coating, always use a non-penetrating support system like adjustable pedestals or rubber-based sleepers to avoid puncturing the silicone membrane.
  • Ensure all hardwood sawdust is vacuumed or blown off the roof surface during deck construction, as trapped organic debris can interfere with the self-cleaning properties of the silicone.
  • Allow the final coat to cure for at least 24 to 48 hours before placing any framing or hardwood materials to prevent indentation of the membrane.
  • Maintain a clear drainage path under the hardwood deck to ensure the silicone surface can shed water effectively, preventing the buildup of tannins from the wood on the coating.
