DeckWise WiseWrap Asphalt JoistTape is a self-sealing barrier designed to protect deck substructures from moisture-induced rot and decay. By sealing the tops of joists and ledger boards, it prevents water from entering fastener holes and sitting on wood grain, significantly extending the life of the frame. This product is ideal for high-end hardwood projects where the durability of the substructure must match the longevity of the decking material.

  • Use a J-roller during application to ensure maximum adhesion to the joist top, which prevents water from wicking underneath the tape edges.
  • If installing in temperatures near 40°F, keep the tape in a warm environment until the moment of application to maintain the tackiness of the asphalt adhesive.
