Ipe Seal® End Grain Sealer - 1 Quart

Ipe Seal® is a wax emulsion end grain sealer designed to prevent checking (drying splits) and end grain cracking in freshly cut hardwood deck boards. When exotic hardwoods are cut, the exposed end grain loses moisture rapidly, causing stress cracks that can propagate into the board face. Applying Ipe Seal® within 24 hours of cutting creates a moisture barrier that slows drying and prevents checks. One quart covers approximately 500 square feet of decking end cuts—enough for most residential deck projects. Also effective on turning blanks, lumber ends, and exposed face grain.
