Our Supply Chain: From Forest to Your Doorstep
We manage a complex, highly regulated global supply chain to bring you the world's finest hardwoods at the best prices. Here is how it works.
The Journey of Your Decking
Unlike domestic lumber, importing tropical hardwood involves multiple stages, international laws, and rigorous quality control. Our transparent process ensures you receive top-quality, legal wood.
1. The Forest (South America)
Our Ipe is legally and sustainably harvested from managed forest concessions in South America. Each tree is carefully selected according to strict government regulations and quotas to ensure the long-term health of the rainforest ecosystem.
2. The South American Mill
Logs are transported to local sawmills where they are cut into rough lumber. The wood undergoes initial inspection, grading, and is sometimes milled into specific profiles. It is then packaged into bundles or loaded directly into shipping containers.
3. Ocean Transit
With all CITES, IBAMA, and Lacey Act documentation approved, the containers are loaded onto cargo ships and transported to ports in the United States.
4. US Port & Distribution Warehouse
Once cleared by US Customs, the containers arrive at our distribution facilities. Some containers are sent directly to customers if they order full loads. Most go to a warehouse where bundles can be broken down for smaller orders.
5. US Milling & Secondary Inspection
For custom orders, the wood is transported to a specialized US mill. This is where we break apart the bundles, conduct a rigorous secondary quality inspection, pull specific pieces, and perform any custom milling (like pre-grooving or custom profiles).
6. Transit to You
Finally, your order is carefully packaged, banded, and protected. We coordinate with LTL or flatbed freight carriers to deliver the pristine hardwood directly to your jobsite or a local terminal for pickup.
