1×6 Tongue and Groove Ipe should be used for covered areas, like porches and sunrooms. It is not recommended for exposed outdoor areas. This is because the expansion and contraction of the wood with no ventilation in-between can make it hard for the boards to breathe and thus causing issues like cupping.
